Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Chiefly ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Chiefly is an AI-powered leadership coaching application that provides voice-based coaching conversations, meeting note analysis, a decision journal, and role-specific reference materials. The App is designed for military and civilian leaders.

3. Account Registration

You may create an account using Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or email and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

• Chiefly offers both free and premium (subscription) tiers.
• Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store (via StoreKit/RevenueCat).
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
• Use the App to transmit harmful, abusive, or objectionable content
• Share your account credentials with others

6. AI-Generated Content

Chiefly uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4o) to generate coaching responses, meeting analyses, and other content. AI-generated content is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise). You should use your own judgment and seek professional counsel when making important decisions.

7. Microphone and Audio

Certain features (voice coaching, meeting transcription) require microphone access. Audio is processed in real time for transcription and is not stored on our servers after processing. You must grant microphone permission explicitly; the App will not access your microphone without your consent.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, trademarks, and technology in the App are owned by Tim Vaughan or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without prior written permission.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tim Vaughan and Chiefly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time and cancel your subscription through your device settings.
